In 1969, William James began producing oil free air compressors under the trade name Aeroflow Industries. Within a few short years, the Aeroflow compressor line gained a reputation for quality, longevity, and dependability, a reputation that is maintained by Hycomp today.

Oil free gas compressors were added to Aeroflow’s existing product line in 1977, and two years later, Aeroflow was chosen to build four units for the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Station. Because of the incident at Three Mile Island the previous year, this was an extremely sensitive decision. Pennsylvania Power and Light was selective and discriminating in their search for a company to provide reliable Nitrogen containment compressors. Characteristically, those compressors we provided over 30 years ago are still in operation today.

The advent of the discounted oil-less compressor line by competitors led to the sale of Aeroflow Industries in 1990 to an inside investor. Hycomp was bought back by the James family in 1995, and immediately expanded to include the production of air boosters. We quickly teamed with several U.S. and international manufacturers of on-site nitrogen generation systems, and began a hard push back into nitrogen boosters as well.

Today companies such as Pratt & Whitney, Nestle, Astra Zeneca, and Petrofac are among the many who trust Hycomp Inc. to ensure the success of their projects.

Trust us to get you successfully through the planning, installation, and startup of your most critical applications.
